Inside the legendary crumbling walls of Preservation Hall, under flickering gaslight and the watchful eyes of saints and spirits, Dr. John sat at the piano — conjuring the rhythm and smoke of old New Orleans.
Photographed by Tyler Curtis during a private party, this image captures the high priest of Gris-Gris at his altar: the upright piano.
The framing itself is electric — as Tyler was granted rare, exclusive access to document the voodoo intimacy of the performance. It feels like invocation as much as a soul capture.
